Overview

Body Paint can be used in ritual using various mediums.

Mediums

Woad

Woad is usually the first type of dye that springs to mind when thinking of Celts, Picts or most idigenous tribes of the British isles. However, there are differing views on how close to fact this information is.

Woad powder can be applied by using various bases or mordants, the most common today is probably animal fat, but urine and semen can also be used.

Henna

Using Henna as a Woad replacement.

Pens

For more intricate designs, others have found various temporary tattoo pens to be of use.
